Having lived in the UK for many years, we have been lucky to try out some fantastic London kid-friendly restaurants.

In general, I’ve found many London restaurants provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for families to dine together.

There are a few factors which make a restaurant family friendly which I’ve tried to include and evaluate in the following recommendations.

These include a good kids’ menu with tasty and healthy options and a comfortable environment and seating for children. As parents, I think we all get fed up with the same old options for kids.

Some London kid friendly restaurants may have play areas, game zones, or entertainment options like colouring sheets or toys to keep children entertained even if its raining outside.

We found London kid-friendly restaurants to be accommodating to different diets making eating out so much easier!

I am always surprised by the extensive vegetarian and vegan options at all of our favourite London kid-friendly restaurants.

I’ve put together this list of child-friendly restaurants in London to help you find great places to eat, whether you’re a local or visiting the city as a tourist.

Jungle Cave Family & Kids Restaurant

Our kids loved the immersive Jungle-themed experience and playground at this kid friendly restaurant we visited in Central London.

Explore and learn all the sights and sounds of the jungle with your little ones while enjoying some delicious food.

The Kid’s Jungle Cave Menu includes a main meal, dessert, and a soft drink. For adults, the restaurant offers a wide range of burgers, meat, fish, and some great vegetarian and vegan options, too! I really enjoyed the Beyond Meat vegan burger.

The Jungle Cave offer extended opening hours during half term as well as group dining, children’s birthdays, and school trips. Book a table online in advance on the restaurant’s website.

Jungle Cave is located in the heart of London’s West End, near Piccadilly Circus. I would recommend travelling to Jungle Cave via public transport as Central and West London can get very busy with limited parking available.

It is easily accessible on London transport by taking the Piccadilly Line on the Underground to Piccadilly Circus station or Leicester Square station.

From Piccadilly Circus, take a short walk across Leicester Square and the restaurant will be on your left up Shaftesbury Avenue.

Our family were thrilled with the themed menu and decor at this London kid-friendly restaurant which we visited during a half term when we lived in London.

Giraffe World Kitchen

London boasts a plethora of child-friendly restaurants that offer diverse cuisines for families to choose from.

One of these is undoubtedly Giraffe World Kitchen which takes the concept of world cuisine to the next level.

On the menu at Giraffe is food from all around the world. From fish and chips to Japanese Katsu curry.

The range of food on offer makes this London kid-friendly restaurant great for meals with kids who are fussy eaters or have different preferences or dietary requirements!

Giraffe is also budget-friendly, with children aged 10 and under offered a main and two sides for just £5. This is particularly handy if you are visiting with multiple children or for a birthday!

There are currently 17 Giraffes in the UK and 5 outside of the UK. Giraffe has two London locations in the heart of the city. One is seconds away from Victoria Station and one is at Waterloo’s Southbank Centre.

Also, nearby in Victoria are some of London’s most prestigious museums as well as theatres, making Giraffe a delicious and fun option for a pre-or post-show meal with family.

Honest Burgers

Known for the most delicious burgers made with locally sourced ingredients, Honest Burgers have multiple locations in London.

This is a great choice for enjoying a casual burger with friends and family.

The food is delicious, and I was really pleased to discover they have multiple vegan and vegetarian options available!

My favourite was the Vegan Teriyaki burger with a Beyond Meat patty and shiitake mushrooms. Yum!

The kids menu is offers a chicken, beef, or vegan burger and a side for £6.50.

This also includes a drink! All main menu burgers are also served with a side of homemade rosemary salted fries, coleslaw, or green salad.

With locations all across the city from Bank to Soho to Brixton, you’ll definitely find this London kid friendly restaurant somewhere near where you are staying.

Central London locations are accessible via tube stations such as Covent Garden, Oxford Circus, and Liverpool Street.

Hard Rock Cafe

My kids absolutely loved our visit to Hard Rock Cafe in London.

The kids menu offers a meal and a drink for just over £10, including one vegan and two gluten free options for those with dietary requirements. The main menu offers a Moving Mountains vegan burger.

Wahaca

Wahaca is one of the best family friendly restaurants London in my experience whilst living in the city. My kids love the experience of building their own tacos, and it was a great way to keep them engaged and occupied during the meal.

On top of the delicious food, we appreciated the family-friendly amenities such as high chairs and changing facilities perfect for those with babies and toddlers at this child-friendly restaurant in London.

Wahaca also offers children’s activities and colouring sheets to keep your kids occupied while you enjoy your meal.

Wahaca is a family-friendly and environmentally conscious restaurant with planet-friendly food and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. You can request the full vegan menu or view it online in advance.

My favourites off the vegan menu were the guacamole and frijoles (creamy black beans) to start. For the main course I would highly recommend the sweet potato burrito with added vegan cheese.

You can even get vegan dessert or churros or ice cream at Wahaca which our kids loved.

This is a really popular Mexican restaurant with several locations in London, including Covent Garden, Southbank, Soho, and Wimbledon.

Central London locations are accessible via London Underground stations such as Covent Garden, Waterloo, and Tottenham Court Road.

Bodean’s BBQ

You may be surprised to learn that this American-style BBQ diner, Bodean’s BBQ, also has some excellent vegan options on offer!

Choose from BBQ jackfruit, sweet potato chilli, vegan burgers and hot dogs, and more.

The Bodean’s kids menu includes three courses for under £5.00. I think most kids would be quite happy with a burger or hot dog at Bodean’s, one of the most popular London kid friendly restaurants.

In the Fulham and Clapham locations, kids can eat completely free. This amazing offer is available for one kid’s meal per adult meal. Don’t miss out!

Serving up American-style BBQ, Bodean’s has locations in Soho, Tower Hill, Clapham, Covent Garden, and Fulham. Accessible via Tube stations such as Tottenham Court Road, Tower Hill, and Fulham Broadway.

Located in Shoreditch in East London, Mama Shelter is easily accessible on the London Overground (orange line).

It’s just a 4 minute walk away from Cambridge Heath station or a 9 minute bus journey from Whitechapel station.

Inamo

Inamo is a fantastic choice for London kid friendly restaurants because of their amazing interactive tables and games room to keep you and the kids entertained! As well as some great entertainment, the food at Inamo is delicious.

This was a really unique dining experience, with interactive tables that allow customers to order food and drinks, play games, and even change the table’s virtual tablecloth.

We really loved our Saturday afternoon at Inamo.

Inamo’s menu includes a range of vegan options, such as the vegan dumplings, the vegetable tempura, and (my personal favourite) the vegetable pad thai. There are also plenty of vegetarian options that can be made vegan upon request.

The vegan sushi is also amazing, such as the Red Dragon Roll with red pepper, cucumber, and avocado.

On top of these great vegan options, the restaurant offers a kids menu that includes smaller portions of popular dishes like sushi rolls. My kids loved it!

This modern and trendy Asian fusion restaurant has two locations in London, one in Soho and one in Covent Garden. Getting to either on public transport is easy.

The nearest station to the Soho location is Tottenham Court Road, which is served by the Central, Northern, Victoria, and Elizabeth lines. From there, it’s just a short walk to the restaurant.

The Covent Garden location is in an excellent spot between shops, markets, and bars. Covent Garden tube station is on the Piccadilly Line.

Overall, Inamo is a great choice for families and kids looking for a fun and interactive dining experience. With its range of vegan and kids options and convenient locations, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience in London.

Marugame Udon

Marugame Udon is a popular Japanese udon noodle restaurant located in the heart of the city, right behind Liberty London, one of the most popular department stores.

The restaurant offers a casual and fun dining experience with an open kitchen and a self-service system where customers can choose their own noodles, broth, and toppings.

Pick your noodles to begin, and then work your way around the rest of the options, adding optional tempura. My kids absolutely love picking out what they like the most.

Marugame Udon has several vegan options on their menu, including the vegetable tempura udon, the spicy yaki udon, and the vegetable curry udon.

The restaurant offers a range of sides that are vegan-friendly, such as vegetable gyoza and seaweed salad.

For kids, the restaurant offers smaller portion sizes of their udon dishes. With very young children, the self service system might be a bit tricky, but older kids will really enjoy the experience of choosing their own toppings.

Our family have tried the Oxford Circus branch behind Liberty, but there are plenty of other locations around London.

Other locations of these London kid-friendly restaurants can be found at the O2, the Strand and if you are on the South Bank, Waterloo.

All of these locations can be accessed easily by public transport. If you are travelling by car, it may be easier to find parking at the O2 or the Bromley location in South East London.

Marugame Udon is a great choice for families and kids looking for a quick and delicious Japanese noodle experience.

Heddon Street Kitchen

At Gordon Ramsey’s relaxed central London restaurant, kids eat for free all day, every day. It doesn’t get much more kid-friendly than that!

Heddon Street Kitchen, located in Piccadilly Circus in the heart of London, offers excellent kid-friendly main meals in a relaxed and welcoming setting, all for free.

Head here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with fantastic food and drinks being served up all day, including a vegan breakfast and mains. The brunch menu also offers scrambled tofu to replace the egg, so vegans have plenty of options.

I really recommend the superfood salad with kale and quinoa. On the kid’s menu, you’ll find all the kiddy classics done well, including bangers and mash, and macaroni cheese.

With kids dessert for £3.50 you can’t really say no!

To get there, head to either Green Park or Piccadilly Circus tube stations and take a short walk.

Westow House

In the heart of Crystal Palace and right next to the famous Crystal Palace Park, you’ll find Westow House, a lovely family-friendly pub with fantastic food. Plenty of choices for London kid friendly restaurants can be found in gastro-pubs.

The food at Westow House is always good, but locals will tell you their roasts are the best. I loved the vegan roast with roasted winter veg and a lentil wellington.

Westow House even has on offer a non-traditional (and slightly controversial) salmon roast for those who like fish.

This South East London pub is a fantastic choice for families with children because they offer a kid’s arts and crafts activity table.

While the adults sit and enjoy a roast and a drink on a Sunday, the kids can sit in a supervised space with plenty of arts and crafts materials to keep them occupied.

Kids table is suitable for children of all ages and costs nothing! It’s free of charge on a first come first served basis to children aged 3 years and up.

On top of the kids yable and great food and drink, Westow House also offer rooms to stay in, classes, and activities in the space upstairs.

If you’re travelling to this South East London pub on public transport, take the London Overground (the orange line) to Crystal Palace Station followed by a short walk to the top of Anerley Hill.

If you’re travelling by car, there is a car park around the corner at Sainsbury’s Crystal Palace where you can park for free for up to two hours.

Megan’s

Megan’s is a charming restaurant with various locations across London, known for its warm and inviting atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for both families with kids of any age.

For families, Megan’s offers a child-friendly environment that caters to young ones. The restaurant provides a dedicated children’s menu with a range of appetizing options.

Children can choose from dishes like mini burgers, chicken skewers, or pasta, ensuring a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience. The children’s menu is also really affordable at £4.50 for a main and a drink.

On top of a fantastic menu for both children and adults, Megan’s often incorporates whimsical touches such as fairy lights and garden-themed decorations, creating a magical ambience that kids find enchanting. It feels so cosy on a rainy day in London.

For the adults, in terms of vegan options, Megan’s does really well at catering to diverse dietary preferences. Their menu includes a variety of delicious plant-based dishes.

Vegans can delight in options like vegan mezze platters, Mediterranean-inspired salads, or the mouth-watering falafel and cauliflower shakshouka kebab.

Menus vary at the different locations so make sure to check the menu online in advance if you or your children have specific dietary needs or preferences.

Megan’s have plenty of locations to choose from all around the city including Richmond, Clapham, Islington, and Chelsea. They even have a restaurant in the Battersea Power Station.

On top of being family-friendly, dog lovers will be pleased to know that Megan’s also welcomes furry friends! The restaurant accepts well-behaved dogs of all sizes and even offers dog beds, water bowls, and yummy treats.

A dog-friendly restaurant like Megan’s is definitely a rare find in London so be sure to check it out if you have a pooch.

Koya Ka

North of the river, in Hackney, you’ll find a fantastic choice of child friendly restaurants in London. One of these is Koya Ka, a casual Japanese restaurant near Broadway Market.

For families with kids, Koya Ka provides a comfortable and relaxed environment that is suitable even for younger children. The restaurant offers a kids’ menu with smaller portions of the delicious udon noodles.

Children can enjoy the simple yet satisfying flavours of dishes like the kids’ udon with vegetables or the kids’ vegetable tempura udon. We found the staff really friendly and accommodating of us, and the atmosphere was super welcoming to families with kids.

The cute Koya Ka kiddy trays were the perfect size for my kids and they really had fun using the children’s chopsticks, too. The tray is even complete with a children’s colouring sheet to keep kiddies entertained.

Koya Ka has two other locations in Soho and in the City near Bank tube station. The Hackney branch is more relaxed with a fast-food feel. Grab yourself a seat and order at the bar if you’re visiting the Hackney location.

Koya Ka is easily accessible by public transport. The nearest station is Hackney Central, which is well connected by both train and bus services including the London Overground.

I really enjoyed the vegan udon noodle broth and tempura vegetables. The Kaiso Udon with chewy udon noodles and mixed seaweed was absolutely delicious!

If you’re looking for kid friendly restaurants in London I would definitely recommend Koya Ka for some delicious noodles and a friendly atmosphere.

Pho

These London kid friendly restaurants offer a wide range of traditional Vietnamese Pho (noodle soup). It’s a great spot for a healthy, hearty, delicious meal.

Pho offers some great child-friendly food options. My kids loved the vegetable gyozas (dumplings) ad the kid wok-fried noodles. Kids can eat a main meal and a drink for £6.95 from the kids menu.

Fo adults there are excellent options for all tastes and dietary requirements. Top your noodle soup with tofu, mushrooms, and other vegetables. Make it as spicy (or not) as you like.

My favourites of the vegan options were the summer rolls with vegan chicken, and the tofu and mushroom pho. The noodle soup also comes with additional toppings which you can add yourself including coriander, beansprouts, and chilli.

Pho has locations all around London including Wimbledon, Balham, Battersea, Canary Wharf, and more. Check their website to find a location most convenient.

Pizza Express

If you’re visiting the city, you’ll find there are plenty of London kid friendly restaurants that are also budget-friendly, making it easy for families to dine out without breaking the bank.

One of the best of these has to be a family favourite: Pizza Express.

Pizza Express is one of my kids favourites when it comes to London kid friendly restaurants. When we lived in the city we used to go quite often at birthdays.

For £7.25, kids can eat a delicious three course meal from the “Piccolo” kids menu. This includes a starter of dough balls followed by a main course of pizza or pasta, a dessert, and a Bambinoccino!

My family loves this affordable London restaurant because there’s always something to please everyone. If you feel like staying in, Pizza Express also offer delivery.

It’s a popular and affordable restaurant chain with multiple locations across London. Use their restaurant location finder on the Pizza Express website to plan your visit and book a table in advance.

For those looking for vegan and vegetarian options, this popular chain doesn’t disappoint. The restaurant offers a vegan pizza with tomato, vegan mozzarella, spinach, and garlic oil, as well as vegan dough balls and a range of salads and sides.

Palazzo

If fantastic pizza is your kid’s favourite, then make sure to head to Palazzo in Crystal Palace, South East London.

This diner-style restaurant is serving up delicious pizzas with daily specials alongside the resident vinyl DJ playing great tunes.

The stylish red décor and great music makes for a really fun and memorable meal, and the comfy booths are great for the whole family. This would be a great option for an older child or teenagers birthday meal.

As well as great fun for adults, Palazzo in Crystal Palace has some of the best child-friendly food on offer. Absolutely anything on the menu can be ordered for kids at half the size and half the price, so your children will be spoilt for choice!

There are always plenty of vegetarian pizzas on offer on the main menu and the daily specials, and vegan mozzarella can be added to any pizza.

On top of these excellent options for kids and veggies or vegans, Palazzo offer a range of special deals on different days of the week.

One of the best, for example, is their half price pizza Mondays. This includes take away if you don’t feel like going out!

On Sundays, kids eat for free! With every adult pizza, Palazzo will throw in two kids margherita pizzas free of charge. Check out their website for a full list of weekly food and drink deals.

To get there on public transport, take the London Overground to Crystal Palace and walk about 5 minutes up Anerley Hill. If you’re feeling lazy and don’t feel like walking up the hill, take any bus from the station for one stop. It is a little difficult with a buggy.

If you’re travelling by car, there is a car park around the corner at Sainsbury’s Crystal Palace where you can park for free for up to two hours.

Farmacy

Farmacy is an excellent plant-based restaurant located in London, offering unique and health-conscious food. Situated in the heart of Notting Hill, the vibrant eatery caters to vegans, vegetarians, and those seeking nutritious and delicious food.

One of Farmacy’s standout features is its extensive range of vegan options. The menu is carefully crafted to showcase plant-based ingredients, resulting in a diverse selection of flavourful dishes.

The menu consists of ‘Earth Bowls’, small plates, mains, soups, and salads. I really enjoyed the mushroom parfait served with sourdough bread, and the artichoke pizza. The miso roasted aubergine was also delicious!

Famacy’s brunch menu has some of the same dishes, with added vegan versions of brunch favourites such as Farmacy Benedict and pancakes.

Dishes are made from 100% organic and plant-based ingredients, many of which come from their farm based in Kent.

Wagamama

Wagamama is a popular Japanese-inspired restaurant chain with several locations in London, making it a convenient choice. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, making it a great choice for families with young kids.

One of the highlights of Wagamama is its kid friendly menu, which offers a range of dishes that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. We also found the staff to be super accommodating and friendly towards families, offering high chairs and booster seats as needed.

Wagamama offers several vegan options on their menu, including the yasai itame, a stir-fry dish with tofu, vegetables, and noodles, and the kare burosu ramen, a spicy ramen with vegetables and tofu. A highlight for me was the vegan teriyaki “ribs” made of seitan (pictured below).

We found these London kid friendly restaurants to be accommodating to dietary restrictions, making dining out easy for our family.

Of London kid friendly restaurants, Wagamama offers one of the largest menus, so there will be something here for everyone. They also have plenty of different locations across London.

From the kids menu, my children’s favourites were the mini katsu curry and the mini yasai yaki soba (stir fried udon noodles with tofu and vegetables).

Wagamama can be found in plenty of locations across London, so you’ll easily find a restaurant which is accessible from where you are staying. Use the restaurant finder on the Wagamama website to find the best option for you and your family.

Franco Manca

Famous for their delicious sourdough pizza, Franco Manca is a great option for families with kids during the daytime or early evening.

The kids pizzas are the same quality and taste as the adults, just smaller, which is something I really value in a family friendly restaurant.

From the kids menu, children have a choice of four pizzas, a drink, and a dessert for £7.65. The menu also offers some fun crossword and colouring activities to keep kids entertained during your meal.

My children really seemed to enjoy our meal at this pick of London kid friendly restaurants, as did us adults.

One of the reasons I enjoyed it personally is Franco Manca is also a great choice of restaurant for vegans and vegetarians.

Vegan special pizzas are available every day in all restaurants, and Violife vegan cheese can be chosen to replace mozzarella, free of charge.

Franco Manca has multiple locations in London, including Brixton, Covent Garden, Wimbledon, and Tottenham Court Road, all of which are easily accessible on the tube if you’re travelling by public transport.

Mildreds

Mildreds is a fully plant-based restaurant and a great option for families with kids, with a great kids menu on offer all day, every day. This includes healthy options which are always popular with my kids such as hummus and and dumplings.

This is one of my favourite of London kid friendly restaurants because it offers the best vegan options and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for families.

For the adults, my favourite dishes have been the grilled artichoke caesar with tender stem broccoli and crispy kale, and the vegan Korean chick’n bun with fries. There are also six excellent plant-based desserts. What a treat!

This is also a great option if you’re looking for child friendly brunch London. The weekend brunch menu has everything on offer from porridge to avocado toast to banana biscoff pancakes. Yum!

The fresh juices and coffee are also delicious!

400 Rabbits

Another great spot for pizza lovers (kids and adults alike) in London is 400 Rabbits restaurant. These London kid friendly restaurants offer excellent pizza in lovely stylish restaurants.

This independent restaurant is committed to creating a memorable dining experience for all guests, including vegans and families. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for London kid friendly restaurants.

For families with children, 400 Rabbits provides a dedicated kids’ menu that caters to young taste buds. The kids’ menu includes smaller-sized pizzas with various toppings including vegan pizzas.

When it comes to vegan options, 400 Rabbits doesn’t disappoint. The menu offers a variety of amazing plant-based pizzas, prepared with a mouth-watering combination of vegan cheeses, fresh vegetables, and delicious dips.

400 Rabbits have multiple locations in South East London including Herne Hill, Elephant and Castle, and West Norwood.

Elephant and Castle is really convenient to travel to because you can take the Bakerloo Line to Elephant and Castle tube station. From there, the restaurant is just a two minute walk across Elephant Park.

If you’re travelling to another South London location from Central London you will need to take a train from Victoria or London Bridge.

Yo! Sushi

Yo! Sushi is a popular restaurant chain in London, offering a unique and interactive dining experience centered around Japanese cuisine.

These child friendly restaurants in London are an excellent choice for both people with kids and vegans, thanks to the diverse menu and family-friendly atmosphere.

Take a seat in Yo! Sushi next to a conveyer belt of small sushi dishes making their way around the restaurant. Kids can have fun watching the sushi chefs preparing all the fresh sushi in the middle of the conveyer belt, and of course picking up the moving dishes!

Children can enjoy watching the sushi conveyor belt in action, selecting their favourite dishes as they pass by!

The restaurant ffers a dedicated kids’ menu with a variety of bite-sized options, making it easy for children to try different flavours and textures.

With options like mini rice balls, crispy chicken rolls, and vegetable gyoza, Yo! Sushi ensures that kids have an enjoyable and interactive experience.

Yo! Sushi also have a dedicated vegan menu that clearly labels all suitable dishes, including vegetable sushi rolls, tofu-based dishes, and delicious fried vegetable tempura.

I’ve found the staff are always knowledgeable about vegan requirements and can provide guidance and recommendations.

The interactive ordering system at Yo! Sushi allows guests to choose dishes that suit their preferences. Each plate is color-coded, indicating the price, making it convenient for you to keep track of their choices.
