France is a destination that most people have on their travel bucket list. While it’s not necessarily known as a family destination, don’t let that scare you off from travelling to France with kids.
Family holidays in France can be incredibly fun, no matter what time of year you go. In summer you can explore the Dordogne with it’s incredible wines and stunning natural scenery. In winter, head over for some Christmas season fun, exploring picture pretty towns and their Christmas markets.
Of course, Paris is not to be forgotten. Paris with kids is an incredible experience. I don’t think we got to see as much of the more authentic side of Paris until we visited it on our family vacation to France.
And don’t think you have to give up on great food, wine, and classic French experiences when you visit on a family trip to France. Most restaurants have highchairs and kids menus, and if your kids don’t like the options on the kids menus many restaurants will allow you to order a half portion of other food on the menu.
Most museums in France will also have kid’s activity sheets or even kid’s workshops so be sure to ask about that wherever you go. Workshops may need to be booked in advance.
Check out our posts below for more details about different France destinations that we highly recommend visiting with kids. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions be sure to leave a comment on the posts!
