We recently stayed at the brand-new Legoland Woodland Village. After a fun-filled and adventurous yet tiring day all the same at Legoland theme park, we were delighted to retreat to the calm of the Woodland Village.
The Legoland Woodland Village is well worth a visit and is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the main Legoland theme park and other hotels.
We had previously visited Legoland for the day, so this was our first time staying overnight. Do check out my Top Tips for visiting Legoland for the day.
Legoland Woodland Village Lodges
We stayed at one of the standard woodland lodges in the Legoland Woodland Village, just a short walk from the Legoland theme park.
The Legoland Woodland Village is located at the back of car park C and is easily accessible for bringing your luggage through upon check-in.

Legoland Woodland Village Check-in
Check-in at Legoland Woodland Village was fairly seamless. Prior to check-in, we were sent instructions that advised us we could not check in until 16:00.
So we spent the day at Legoland and left our bags in the van. Luggage cannot be stored at Legoland Woodland Village.
We received a text message at approximately 14:30 advising us that our room was ready, but we decided to wait until 16:00 so we could pack in a few more rides.
When I arrived at the Clubhouse, we were all delighted to hear birds chirping, which was a lovely touch and kept with the woodland experience theme.
I entered our booking number into the touch-screen portal at reception and easily printed our key card.
Staff were on hand to double-check that we were okay. They checked that we had made reservations at the Clubhouse restaurant for dinner and breakfast, which we had.
We were also provided with a map of Legoland Woodland Village and a list of activities and entertainment for the evening.
It was a short walk to our Woodland Lodge and was interactive as the kids spotted the various woodland Lego creatures.

What Is Legoland Woodland Village Like?
The design and layout of Legoland Woodland Village cannot be faulted. The Clubhouse is the main hub, and the accommodation is divided into animal-themed sections.
You can choose a standard woodland-themed lodge, a premium two-storey lodge, or the more cosy yet affordable woodland barrels.
The woodland village has numerous delightful Lego-built woodland creatures, such as deer, moles, robins, and otters.
There is a main play area outside the clubhouse and more equipment for kids throughout the woodland village.
We even saw a family of geese with baby chicks waddling through the village and into the pond.
Standard Woodland Lodge
We stayed at the Standard Woodland Lodge in Legoland Woodland Village as a family of four: two adults, a six-year-old, and a three-year-old.
The lodge comprises the main room, with a double bed, desk, television and storage space. It felt like a hotel room with the Legoland design on the wall.
A long curtain sectioned off the kid’s room, set up beautifully for us. It had a night light, making it feel magical.
The kid’s room had bunk beds and a Lego station, where they immediately got building. There was also a television in the kid’s room, but it wasn’t used as much as we were so busy with all the activities and exploring the grounds.
However, at the end of the evening, it was the ideal wind-down activity. We cosied up in the double bed to watch a Lego movie with popcorn!
I was slightly worried about the children’s mattresses as we were night-training my three-year-old. However, on further inspection, I noticed they are wiped clean and easily disinfected if necessary.
The bathroom had a shower rather than a bath, which might be a consideration for some families with young children.
I enjoyed the sunny terrace in the evening, where I could relax while my little one made friends and played on the climbing equipment.
Although I didn’t have one, I pondered how a nice glass of wine would go well on the terrace!
These woodland lodges are not self-contained. However, guests are encouraged to use the Clubhouse to dine.
Premium Woodland Lodge
The Premium Woodland Lodge at Legoland Woodland Village can sleep up to seven people and is two stories high. The lounge in the Premium Woodland Lodge is much more spacious.
There is also a dedicated sleeping area for children. Booking the premium woodland lodge comes with an increased cost, however might be worth it if travelling in a larger group.
Check out the premium lodge here.
Legoland Woodland Barrels
The Woodland Barrels mimic a glamping experience. They are the more affordable option for staying at Legoland Woodland Village.
The cosy Woodland Barrels at Legoland Woodland Village sleeps up to 4 people. However, guests staying here must use the outdoor toilet and shower block.
Although we did not stay here, I imagine it could be fun. However, I am unsure I could do more than one night here as the full-on day out at Legoland calls for more space and comfort. The barrels have lighting, Wi-Fi, heating, and charging ports.
We spoke to a mother staying in one of these pods with her 8-year-old boy. She said they had travelled from up North, and the Lego Pods made their stay easier and more affordable.

Eat at the Clubhouse Restaurant
The Clubhouse Restaurant is well-staffed; however, it seems obvious this is a new establishment, and some staff are still finding their feet.
Meals at the clubhouse can be booked before arrival. I will mention, however, that the right time for us as a family to dine at breakfast was unavailable.
Breakfast At Legoland Woodland Village
I booked the 10:15 a.m. slot, which was the earliest available online. However, with young kids ready for the day, we were all pretty hungry by 9:00 a.m.
I approached the restaurant’s concierge, and it wasn’t an issue to seat us sooner. We sat to eat breakfast at approximately 09:30 a.m. and to be honest; it was somewhat chaotic.
Seeing guests stock up on a takeaway lunch was a little disappointing.
Many other things, such as coco pops, milk, and apple juice, had run out. We had brought our carton of oat milk “just in case,” but it appears alternative milk was available when requested.
We chose to eat a hot breakfast, which included vegetarian options. However, vegan options do not appear to be marked on the menu.
A clear allergen guidebook is available, reassuring for my two allergic children.
Dinner At Legoland Woodland Village
We all enjoyed our dinner at the Clubhouse. We booked for around 17:15, which I feel was a good time as many Legoland guests would have still been at the theme park, as the rides don’t stop until 18:30.
It was wonderful that my multi-allergic boy had a choice of mains and even enjoyed fresh watermelon and raspberry sorbet for pudding. Having a successful two-course meal out was a real win in my eyes.
There is a process in place for guests with allergies. The manager takes the order, notes the allergies, and ensures this is communicated with the chef and staff involved. It was reassuring for us to know allergies are taken seriously.
Having the playground so close helped reduce restaurant meltdowns. It was so nice that they could go out and play while dinner was being prepared.
We alternated watching them from the terrace with our drinks while waiting for our dinners to arrive.
For mains, I chose delicious tomato soup, cauliflower steak, blackened chips, and tender stem broccoli. The staff seemed unsure when I tried to discuss vegan options, but I made it work.
Although many dishes were labelled vegetarian, there is no separate vegan menu.
Entertainment at the Clubhouse
The clubhouse offers ongoing entertainment to keep little ones entertained. The play area is accessible all day and has some nice touches; the trampoline was especially popular.
The kids enjoyed the readily accessible Lego table in the Clubhouse, where they could build houses, dragons, and characters to their heart’s content.
In the evening, from 18:30 to 20:30, there is an interactive and engaging timetable of entertainment. My kids enjoyed building a hedgehog home with a team of little builders.
A rolling timetable with Woodland Friends meet-and-greets, campfire songs, and campfire stories adds to the wonderful Woodland Village feel.
The woodland friends appeared in the Clubhouse from 08:30 – 10:15 in the morning.
Find out more about the Clubhouse here.
When you book the Legoland Woodland Village, you are offered a free round of adventure golf. We opted to do this after breakfast on the second day while the kids were still in good form.
Our stay at the Legoland Woodland Village was comfortable and enjoyable for all. It certainly made the trip to Windsor worth it, as we did not have to endure the dreaded car journey home to Sussex after a big day out at Legoland.
The Legoland Woodland Village is a nice touch; the theme is well thought out, and parents are considered in this stay. The various entertainment options for the children offer parents some downtime.
It is the more affordable option compared to the Bricks Hotel. The Legoland Woodland Village is somewhat refreshing, given that it is outside the chaotic hub of the Legoland theme park.
I also enjoyed having a second day at Legoland, during which we felt orientated to the theme park and could do some activities we had missed the day before.
